Arapahoe Basin

 

Located just 68 miles west of Denver, Arapahoe Basin celebrated its 60th anniversary last season. Developed by a group of pioneers shortly after World War II, Arapahoe Basin boasts the highest skiable terrain (13,500') and one of the longest seasons (October - June) in North America.  Highlighted by the incomparable steeps,

trees and bumps of Pallavicini, East Wall and North Glades. The terrain and the rich history have earned Arapahoe Basin the title - The Legend.

 

Dundee Resort Development purchased the ski area in 1997. Dundee's commitment to the ski area is represented through the many upgrades put forth since the purchase. These include the addition of snowmaking, a new triple chairlift, a new summit house and a new snow sports base area building.

 

In the Spring of 2007, the Basin celebrated the opening of its first on mountain restaurant, Black Mountain Lodge.

Black Mountain Lodge.  The new mid-way mountain restaurant, Black Mountain Lodge, is located at 11,000 feet at the top of the Exhibition chairlift.  The lodge provides on-mountain amenities to our skiers and riders such as food, drinks, restrooms and retail merchandise. The 250 seat restaurant features gorgeous views of the East Wall and the Continental Divide. A unique on-mountain refuge where guests can enjoy one-of-a-kind views. Beginning 2009/2010 season features an expanded bar-b-quing deck.
